I got to speak with Rich briefly back in 84 at an SCCA regional race at Riverside. He was just then putting together the effort that would finally see him in the 500. He was driving an A Sports car with his father-in-law…it was kinda neat to see him at that sort of venue. He really was an amazingly talented driver and we lost him WAY too soon. He and Foxy would’ve florished in the IRL.
