Went by the Speedway this morning to check up on how work is progressing on the maintenance of E stand. Looks like more of the Penthouse seats have been removed.

99th Indianapolis 500-May 24, 2015
The 99th running of the Greatest Race in the World!May 24, 2015
The big day is here.
I remember the days when they were adding seating to accomodate the growing crowds, not keeping things status quo or trimming back. Those were the days with the Indy 500 wasn’t a spec event with virtually identical cars and engines. I’d almost vote to go back to front engine so that American open wheel drivers from USAC could move up to those cars with a chance to win. The thrill of the foreign driver is over, as is the emphasis to make things as much like F-1 as possible. Where is a Wilbur Shaw when we need him?
