For those of you not fortunate enough to be able to drive pass the “Speedway Daily” here are some pictures, some ok some not so ok, of the progress. BTW: How about that bolder not far from the USAC building? I suppose that came out of the ground during excavation.
The photos from inside the car were taken while driving west on 16th street approaching what used to be the corner of 16th and Georgetown. Georgetown Road will no longer be accessible from Crawfordsville Road or 16th Street. It dead ends just north of there by the Trailer Park across the street from the Main Gate.
I hope they keep the big rock and use for a land mark someplace. Also they have made the street cut at Cord across from the car wash, a street to no where at this time. Maybe it will go through the IMS property for access to the last mobile home parks and the legion as well. Any one know where the road will go to?
